Buying the cheapest treadmill you can find may not be your best choice. Treadmills are complex pieces of equipment with a lot of moving parts and the cheaper treadmills do not have the features or comfort of the more expensive models.
Treadmills are one of the best ways of getting the cardio element of your workout. You will burn more calories with a treadmill than with any other piece of cardio equipment. Because the treadmill is in your home you are also far more likely to use it regularly. No more trailing to the gym only to have to queue for your equipment.

- Cheaper treadmills may have low powered motors making them more likely to break down.
- Ensure your treadmill has a comfortable running surface with plenty of shock absorbing - you will be running on it for many hours a week.
- Does your treadmill have an incline feature enabling you to make your workout more challenging and interesting (is it a powered incline)
- Has the treadmill got a built in heart rate monitor - an essential feature for a safe and effective workout
- Can your treadmill track distance travelled, speed and number of calories burned?
- How long is the treadmills warranty - You require at least a year
